Maternal & Child Observatory
The Maternal and Child Observatory (OMI) is a free and accessible platform that facilitates the participation of all stakeholders involved in the formulation, management, and implementation of public policies and programs aimed at early intervention in maternal and child health and nutrition. Its framework is built upon the systematization, estimation, and georeferencing of maternal and child nutrition indicators established within the World Health Organization’s Global Nutrition Targets, which include:
- Reduce by 40% the number of children under five years of age who are stunted.
- Reduce by 50% the prevalence of anemia in women of reproductive age.
- Reduce by 30% the number of cases of low birth weight.
- Ensure no increase in childhood overweight and obesity.
- Increase the breastfeeding rate during the first six months of life to at least 50%.
- Reduce and maintain childhood wasting below 5%.
