On April 1, 2024, the Maternal and Child Observatory participated on IBERO 90.9 FM radio.

Where Dr. Mónica Ancira presented

a detailed analysis of the concerning maternal and child nutritional situation and the significant burden that malnutrition represents for Mexico. In her intervention, she emphasized the urgent need to implement concrete measures to improve food environments in homes, schools, and communities.

Through her presentation, Dr. Ancira highlighted the complexity of the factors contributing to this issue, including economic accessibility to nutritious foods, education on healthy eating habits, and the influence of social and cultural environments on dietary choices.

At the end of her speech, she emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach that involves various sectors of society, from the government and health institutions to community organizations and families, in order to create effective policies and programs that promote adequate nutrition from the prenatal stage to early childhood.
