Maternal and Child Nutritional Care Quality

Prevalence in the Quality of Maternal and Child Nutritional Care

The WHO defines quality of care as the ability of health services to achieve the best possible health outcomes for individuals, using practices grounded in scientific evidence and the most up-to-date professional knowledge.

Quality care is based on seven essential dimensions: efficiency, effectiveness, safety, equity, timeliness, person-centered care, and evidence-based practice. These dimensions aim to ensure that services are safe, relevant, and accessible, promoting a dignified and humane treatment for every patient.

In this context, nutrition is recognized as a key component for achieving comprehensive and quality care, as it allows for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of the various forms of malnutrition, thereby fostering health throughout the life course.
